Sessions: Completing a Roleplay Session
Learn how to start, navigate, and complete a Roleplay Session, including how to interact with the AI character and review your results.
Step 1: Find Your Session
After logging in, you'll land on the Roleplay catalog. Sessions are listed as cards. Each card shows the Session name, description, and any available details about difficulty or time.
Click a Session card to open it.
Step 2: Preview the Session
The Session preview screen shows you everything you need before you start:
- Description — sets the scene and tells you who you'll be speaking with.
- Goals — the specific skills you'll be evaluated on. Review these before you start so you know what to focus on.
- Session details — duration, difficulty, and time limit (if applicable).
When you're ready, click Start Session.
Step 3: Set Up Your Camera and Mic
Before the conversation begins, you'll go through a quick setup screen:
- Check that your camera and microphone are working.
- Select the correct devices if you have more than one.
- Allow browser permissions for camera and microphone when prompted — the Session won't start without them.
Once everything looks good, click Begin Session.
Step 4: Have the Conversation
You'll be connected to the AI character. Speak naturally — the AI responds in real time to what you say.
- The Session ends when the conversation reaches a natural conclusion, or when the time limit is reached.
- Don't close the browser tab during the Session — your attempt may not be saved.
Step 5: Review Your Results
After the Session ends, the AI analyzes your conversation and scores your performance against each goal. This may take a moment.
Once complete, you'll see:
- A score for each goal, based on how well you addressed it during the conversation.
- Written feedback for each goal explaining the score and what you could improve.
Practicing Again
From the results screen, you can immediately start another attempt without leaving. Each attempt is scored independently — use repeat Sessions to apply feedback and improve your score.
Tips
- Use Chrome or Edge for the best experience.
- Find a quiet space — background noise can affect the conversation quality.
- If your microphone isn't working, check your browser's permissions for the Rehearsal site.
