What CenarioVR is made of
A device with a broadband connection to the Internet running one of the following browsers:
- Chrome
- Firefox
- Microsoft Edge
- Safari
Chrome is the recommended browser as it has better WebVR support and has a faster JavaScript engine which allows for a better user experience
Viewing:
Published content is compatible with the following desktop browsers:
- Chrome - Recommended
- Firefox
- Microsoft Edge
- Safari (MacOS, iOS - For the best experience on iOS devices the app should be used.)
CenarioVR cannot provide an acceptable user experience on this browser due to the technical limitations of IE. To use CenarioVR, please upgrade to the latest version of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge.
Apps are available for iOS and Android platforms. The Apps are compatible with:
- iOS 11+
- Android 7+
In order to use VR features on tablets and phones, the devices must have an accelerometer
Apps are also available for use on the following VR headsets:

- Oculus Go
- Oculus Quest
- Meta Quest 2
- Oculus Rift/Rift S
- HTC Vive Focus
- HTC Vive/Vive Pro

Supported Media
Scenes: Equirectangular JPG, PNG, or MP4 - H.264 codec, NOT H.265 due to lack of support in most devices and browsers.
Images/Hotspots: GIF, JPG, PNG, SVG
3D Objects: GLB
Audio: MP3
Video: MP4
360° Scene Filming/Compression:
Any camera that takes 360-degree photospheres should work well with CenarioVR.
360 cameras often produce video output that requires bandwidth greater than can be streamed over the internet. It is highly recommended that video compression tools be used before uploading any 360 video to the internet. There are many professional tools available such as Adobe Premiere Pro or Apple Final Cut Pro. For a free option that works well, consider using Handbrake (https://handbrake.fr/). When choosing a Codec, H.264 is required. H.265 is unsupported in general by many devices and browsers
