In this video, we're going to take a look at the basic structure of our 4-Button Multiple Choice Knowledge Check Captivate template, and how to make simple edits like changing text in the file.
First let's look at the structure.
This is a single-screen template with a question, and four choices available to the user.
Functionality is very straightforward - question content is presented in the question box at top of the screen, and feedback content is provided in the feedback_group that appears after a selection is made.
Question and button content can be edited simply by selecting the text box on the screen.
To change the main image, select it and access the properties pane.
Here, you'll need to select a new fill for the container shape.
All feedback is on the "feedback caption" shape. Access the states pane to edit the incorrect feedback content. Correct feedback content can be edited with a quick click to the text box.
One detail specific to this file is the hint button.
The user can click the question icon at bottom right of the main image to get a hint for that question. This content is on the "HINT" state of the main image object.
To edit the hint content, select the image, access the properties pane, then select States > hint, and change text as desired.
To change which answer options are correct, you just need to edit the Answer variable.
Access the variables pane, and enter a number that corresponds to the button that should be marked correct.
If button 1 is correct, enter a 1.
If button 4 is correct, enter a 4, and so on.
In this template, the number of buttons is fixed to 4. If you need to remove a button, simply disable it in the main timeline, drag off stage, or delete.
