Promoting a Response to the Leaderboard
Introduction
This article will guide you through the various tools and capabilities of the Review tab within the Rehearsal platform.
The general purpose of the review tab is to have a central place to review the status and content of learner provided responses, reviewing them, and then deciding if prompting for a new response is needed or submitting a final review. There are also a couple other options available to augment feedback and final reviews that can be seen below.
Accessing the Review Tab
The review tab can be accessed by selecting the "mentor" button in the top right of the page after logging into the site.
Sorting & Filtering
At the top of the tab, and in a few locations located around the page, there are options to filter and sort the feedback provided by learners. Use them to organize and locate specific learner feedback you may be looking for.
View Learner Responses
Every row represents responses given by learners that are awaiting review from a mentor. Assignments that have been prompted for additional feedback or given a final review, will also appear here, making it a good place to check on the status of outstanding assignments.
To look at the response a student has provided, click on the row containing the response you want to review.
Leaving a Comment
Comments are intended to be a secondary type of feedback, used to leave special remarks or specific, time associated remarks. They will typically be used in combination with prompting for a new response or submitting a final review.
In order to leave a comment, click on the "Leave a comment" button to the right of the transcript metrics just below the learner's response. This will open the comment editor window where you will be able to record or upload media, leave text feedback, and select a specific time to associate those items to.
At minimum, you must provide some text, or a video in order to submit the comment.
Promoting a Response to the Leaderboard
Sometimes you will come across exceptional responses from learners that may deserve some additional attention, or serve as good examples or best practice. For these cases, responses can be promoted to the leaderboard for other users of Rehearsal to see.
To promote a response to the leaderboard, select the three dots in the top right corner of the response you would like to promote. A small white popup will appear asking for an optional note as well as a few options. Mentors can choose to publish a response directly to the leaderboard, or, there is an option to ask permission from the learner via email notification before the response is promoted to the leaderboard. If the learner denies the response being promoted, it will not be added to the leaderboard.
Prompting for a New Response
Another options available as a mentor is the ability to prompt a learner for a follow-up round of feedback. You can do this by selecting the "Prompt for New Response" button in blue towards the bottom of the thread.
You will be presented with the options to either Record or Upload video feedback and you may provide text feedback as well. At minimum, either a video or text feedback must be provided in order to prompt for a new response.
Select "Submit Prompt" once satisfied with the feedback.
Submitting Final Review
The last option available as mentor is the ability to submit a final review for the response. You can do this by selecting the "Submit Final Review" button in red toward the bottom of the thread.
Similar to when prompting for another response, you will be presented with the options to either Record or Upload video feedback and you may provide text feedback as well. You will also see an additional section to adjust the scores for the response.
Once everything is set, click "Submit Final Review".
