In this video, we're going to take a look at the basic structure of our Tablet Scenario template, and how to make simple edits like changing text in the file.
First let's look at the structure.
This is a multi-screen template.
Slide 1 provides the user with a tablet-based scenario; Slide 2 uses a mobile phone to frame the scenario.
Design is different, but functionality is generally the same, so we'll focus on just the first slide for now.
On initial visit, the user will be presented first with an introductory layer that explains the slide.
When this group hides, the main content is shown.
Here, the user interacts with and reads a scenario presented on a device by clicking the arrows shown on the device.
Once all screens on the device have been viewed, the content pane at left of the screen will disappear, and the user will be presented with four choices.
When the user makes a selection from these choices, content feedback will appear, covering the scenario and device screen.
Content for the Introduction can be found in the intro_group.
All content in this group, including the button, can be edited through the styles pane. To change content, click and type.
Each of the different content blocks shown on screen also live in their own groups.
To edit, enable them on the timeline, and select the objects that make up the group to edit: click and type for text changes, and use the styles pane to color or format the text or to select a new image for that screen.
The first caption shown at the left of the screen can be found in the content_caption text box. Edit this through the styles pane.
The buttons that appear when the user has scrolled through all screens on the device are in the button_group.
Each is a standard Captivate shape.
Click and type to change text.
Use the style pane to edit fill, stroke, etc.
Note that each of these buttons has multiple states.
