In this article, we will go over what is a direct link and how to generate those links from Scenarios and Programs.

  • What is a direct link?
  • Scenario Direct Link
  • Program Direct Link

What is a direct link?

Direct linking is the use of a hyperlink that links to a specific, piece of Rehearsal content, rather than taking someone to the Learner home page. The URL contains all the information needed to point to a particular item - and in Rehearsal's case - to a specific Scenario or Program.

Scenario Direct Link

Scrolling down to the bottom of a scenario you will find the verbiage Get direct link to learner view.

Once you click on this link you will get a pop-up window with the link.

Click on the Copy Link (blue button) and you can now take this link and put it in your Learning Management System, website, email.

Note:  For the direct link to work the learner needs to have the scenario assigned to them, otherwise they will get a message that they don't have access.

Program Direct Link

Scrolling down to the bottom of a program you will find the verbiage Get direct link to this program

Once you click on this link you will get a pop-up window that contains links to three items

The Learner Link will take learners to the program with Rehearsal navigation.

The Learner Link (No Navigation) will take learners to the program without any navigation (this is a great link to use if you are adding your link from within another system).

The Editor Link will take an Admin or someone that you have designated as a Program Editor to the page that allows them to edit this program.

Click on the Copy (grey button) and you can now take this link and put it in your Learning Management System, website, email.

If you want to send sent the link to someone click on the Email (blue) button and an email will open.

Note:  For the direct link to work the learner needs to have the scenario assigned to them, otherwise they will get a message that they don't have access.
